CTCU Scholarships

CTCU Scholarship opportunities help local high school teens fulfill college dreams!

Cooperative Teachers Credit Union (CTCU) is pleased to offer four $2,500 scholarships per academic year that are available to high school seniors attending school within our field of membership. The scholarships are in honor of Tommy Tomlinson, Elmer Wynne, Mary Clift and Ed McMillan.

Information on how to apply is given to high school counselors at the first of each calendar year to distribute to interested students. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the winners’ designated College or University, on behalf of the student recipient, before the payment deadline for the Fall semester.

CTCU Scholarship Student FAQ Section

Q: I won't be at school to submit my scholarship application packet the day of the student deadline. Can I mail it to CTCU instead?

A: No, students (excluding those who are homeschooled) must submit their application packet to their high school counselor by the student deadline. We encourage students to complete their application packet and essay prior to the deadline so they have ample time to submit it to their counselor for review.
A: Please contact your high school counselor.
A: We score based on overall grammar, punctuation, and readability. We also score based on if all essay questions were answered fully and if the essay flows properly from one topic to the next.

CTCU Scholarship Parents FAQ Section

Q: Is my child eligible since they're homeschooled?

A: Yes, homeschooled students are eligible to apply for our scholarship if they meet eligibility requirements. You'll just skip the step of submitting the application packet to a school counselor and mail it directly to us by the final deadline. Our address is 1424 WSW Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701 (Attention: CTCU Scholarship Committee)
A: Questions should be directed to your child's high school counselor if they pertain to submission deadlines, requested formats, etc. If the question pertains to scholarship requirements, please reference our CTCU Scholarship Rules & Guidelines.

A: Make sure your students understand the essay instructions and submit a completed application and all requested documents on time. Let students know that we score based on overall grammar, punctuation, and readability.
